Kinds of Coating for Your Lenses
Choosing the right lenses is critical to your visual health. There are many coating options available that can magnify the effectiveness of your glasses in keeping your vision good and protecting your eyes from damage.
Your glasses aren’t complete without No-Glare lenses. These coatings remove the glare from your lenses so that you can see better. The great thing is that people are able to see you better as well because of the lack of reflections on your lenses. In addition, this coating helps repel scratches, smudges, dust, and water. No-Glare lenses are recommended for all ages and provide amazing benefits.
- See Better – No-Glare lenses mean safer and more comfortable nighttime driving by reducing glare from headlights, taillights, and street lights.
- Look Better – No-Glare lenses are clean, clear, and glare-free so they’re virtually invisible to those around you. People see you instead of your glasses.
- Feel Better – No-Glare lenses mean fewer headaches and less eye fatigue caused by reflections from computer screens and daytime lights.
We use Crizal for no-glare coating. (Currently we use Crizal Sapphire, Prevencia, Avancé, Alizé, and Easy)
Scratch-Resistant & Moisture-Resistant Coatings
No matter what type of lenses you use for your glasses, they won’t be totally scratch-proof. However, lenses that are treated front and back with a clear scratch-resistant coating have a much harder surface that is more resistant to scratching.
Blue Light Protection Lenses
Blue-Violet light is present in the world around us, but we are exposed to more of these harmful rays with our modern lifestyles. If you are often around indoor lighting, computers, or any other electronics, you may have noticed that these devices can cause eye strain and fatigue. If you suffer from these symptoms you may want to consider lenses with our Prevencia Blue-Violet Light Coating or our Eyezen Len style.
Crizal Prevencia lenses are the best protection for Blue-Violet light. These lenses stop the harmful rays from reaching your eyes, thus relieving eyestrain, fatigue, and other common symptoms. In addition, they provide scratch resistant lenses that also have the same anti-glare and scotchguard found on other Essilor lenses.
Xperio Polarized Lenses
Experience the outdoors like never before. Xperio® polarized sunwear gives you better protection and comfort than tinted lenses can achieve.
Xperio lenses offer a sunglasses solution for better clarity. These lenses are designed for better color perception so our vision is as accurate as possible. In addition, these lenses are scratch resistant with a water repellent layer that make them easier to clean. Compared with tinted lenses that only reduce brightness and often mute the natural colors that we see, Xperio lenses are an incredible upgrade!
We’ve heard that UV rays can be dangerous and that we need to make sure we take the proper steps to protect our eyes. The best way to achieve this protection is through polarized sunglasses. Xperio polarized lenses offer maximum UV protection to ensure you protect your eyes and the adjacent skin from UV damage. This can help prevent cancer, cataracts, blindness, and other diseases caused by UV rays. Xperio polarized lenses completely block UV rays providing 100% UVA/UVB protection reducing potential vision damage.
Xperio polarized lenses are designed to eliminate glare. This provides the clearest vision possible in bright daylight. This can be particularly helpful when driving, fishing, or participating in other sports and activities where reflection impacts our vision.
Transitions are adaptive lenses that can be worn as clear lenses indoors and automatically darken when outdoors. This will make you comfortable while simultaneously providing eye protection from damaging UV light. These lenses are offered in several different forms and colors which include Signature, Vantage, and Xtractive.
These adaptive lenses are the classic transitions which will go from completely clear lenses indoors to a grey, brown, or green lenses when outside. These are tinted lenses which will not work behind a vehicle’s windshield. They are the perfect fit for everyday life and offer optimal tint in all lighting conditions.
Vantage transition lenses are an adaptive lens option to provide you with polarized lenses. They will have a hint of a grey tint indoors, but will change to dark grey polarized lenses when outdoors. This will provide you with the sharpest and clearest vision when outdoors because they help reduce glare.
Xtractive lenses are the darkest tint option for adaptive glasses. These will change from a slightly tinted lens indoors to a dark tinted lens outdoors. They can change to a grey, brown, or a green tint and are the only adaptive lenses that will remain tinted behind your car windshield.
